Fiat and token payment launched for nCDN

On January 23rd, NKN launched both fiat and NKN token payment options for our nCDN content delivery service. The new payment features enable a freemium business model which allows customers to try our service for free with limits while offering cost effective prepaid packages for those that need more. This is just another way NKN is providing real world use cases for blockchain and the token economy!

You can sign up for nCDN on our self service portal at: https://www.ncdn.io

SF Pitch Night 2020 Winner

On Jan 30th, NKN won the top prize at the SF Pitch Night 2020 competition in San Francisco. The event, sponsored by innovation design firm btrax, included pitches from 9 startups out of Silicon Valley and Fukuoka Japan with judges representing venture capital and academia. We sincerely thank btrax and all of the startups and judges that participated in the event.

IoT Gateway PoC with NKN & Mozilla WebThings

One of the biggest problems with smart home solutions is being able to access your devices remotely and securely outside of the home. To do this, many smart home solutions need to deploy costly cloud service that manages these remote connections and can be a single point of failure as well. We believe NKN’s network and communication service for IoT can help. Using NKN’s tunneling capabilities and distributed network, we can enable secure and direct remote access to your home IoT devices without the need for a central server.

As a Proof of Concept, we collaborated with Mozilla and the WebThings IoT Gateway to show how NKN’s network service integrates with WebThings for secure remote access. For step by step instructions on how you can setup your very own NKN+WebThings IoT Gateway, check out our blog post: Tunneling Mozilla WebThings Gateway through NKN client
