- Will files on nCDN be shared across nodes for redundancy? like IPFS, SIA, STORJ?
Answer: Our nCDN is more like CloudFlare. We do caching of files among many nodes, while drawing source from the content owner. So depends on user/client consumption, the same episode of “Game of Throne” can be stored on many nodes. And for live events, we can cache segments of the live feed across different nodes to increase aggregated throughput.
Currently we are not responsible for the original copy of content, unlike ipfs. The content owner will be responsible. However, we can leverage ipfs/SIA/Storj for long term storage and redundancy.
- Have plans for on-chain relay rewards and dapps been sidelined as NKN presses to develop services like nCDN with NanoPay instead? Will NKN have on-chain relay rewards before June 2020?
Answer: On-chain relay rewars and dApps are not sidelined. We develop our own flagship product like nCDN to showcase our technology and platform, not to monopolize it. We will support any app developers to use our network for many creative things, e.g. web proxy and acceleration through TUNA and nanoPay. We will be more than happy if someone can use on-chain relay reward and nanoPay better than we can. It will be a big win for the entire NKN ecosystem.
