Will there be a simple application that allows you to use NKN as a VPN or Proxy service? Is this currently possible to develop on the current mainnet?
so it seams this is not possible? I remember this being one of the use cases pushed the hardest. Why now so quiet with mainnet?

The short answer is yes, that certainly is possible and the TUNA app is what would make it easy.
