Title question. Also can nodes prevent this from happening in any way, and would this content be traceable back to them?
Technically they cannot because by default contents are end to end encrypted, so nodes have no way to detect what’s being sent.
Also, IMO nodes shouldn’t be responsible for those content. It’s like when someone send illegal content through Internet, his ISP should not and will not be responsible for those content.
