NKN as a project is growing at a rapid pace and the community growing as well. Telegram for general audience, Discord for developers, miners and more technical discussion, plus Wechat have become the preferred places where the community members and outsiders who just heard about NKN aggregate and ask questions.
We have a lot of enthusiastic supporters in our community and have received a huge amount of support and high quality discussions on our social channels, but the problem is that all of these discussions stay in their particular walled gardens and are unreachable from the outside. For example: most of this high quality content created over the years cannot be effectively searched by Google or Baidu.
The issue with using Instant Messaging for communication right now is that people tend to choose the easy way and just ping team members for every question, which reduces the efficiency of the team. We would like to move to a more asynchronous communication and leave pinging the team only for more urgent cases. Also moving to https://forum.nkn.org for most communication helps the community. Since every post is indexable and searchable, you are more likely to find answers to your question just by using search on the forum or searching using Google or Baidu. The forum.nkn.org is also search engine optimized.
We encourage the community to use https://forum.nkn.org instead of Telegram or Discord from now on for customer support, questions about the project, insights, dev projects and communication about the project in general.
https://forum.nkn.org should be the first place for everyone who wants to understand NKN and talk about the project. The content can be easily searchable and stored in one place. Another advantage is that https://forum.nkn.org is easily accessible by anyone and not blocked, unlike other popular communication tools.
Telegram, Discord, Wechat and other IM platforms are here to stay but they are more suited for casual or most urgent conversations about the project.
Live Video AMA with NKN Core Team (English & Chinese)
On April 25th 2019, NKN hosted our first two live video AMAs with the NKN Core Team, one in English and one in Chinese. Over the previous week, the team compiled a number of questions from the NKN community via our media channels including NKN forum, Telegram, WeChat, and Twitter as well as addressed live questions through both Zoom and YouTube comments. These questions included topics about NKN’s long term roadmap, mainnet launch, new flagship products of Pub/Sub and nCDN, the team, and even the inevitable “When Binance?” question. Our community asked the best questions and we are here to answer.
The transcripts and additional answers can be found here:
And the most active community members with high quality questions will receive a T-shirt as thank-you reward. Stay tuned for announcement from Allen.

NKN Overview and Deep Dive at Blockchain Applications and Smart Contracts Meetup in SV
NKN was invited to present at the monthly meetup on April 25th by "Blockchain Applications and Smart Contracts", a blockchain enthusiast group based in Silicon Valley with more than 600 members. Yilun provided an overview of the NKN project, its application in all things networking (Pub/Sub, CDN), and its technology cores (e.g. how to reach consensus for millions or billions of nodes).

Introducting Decentralized Pub/Sub
NKN is the new kind of P2P network connectivity protocol & ecosystem powered by a novel public blockchain. We use economic incentives to motivate Internet users to share network connection and utilize unused bandwidth. NKN’s open, efficient, and robust networking infrastructure enables application developers to build the decentralized Internet so everyone can enjoy secure, low cost, and universally accessible connectivity.
